Tonight, as I reflect on the past year, I am disappointed to realize that I’ve not done a very good job at following through with the goals I set for myself. It would be easy to berate myself for my many failures again. But, I am immediately reminded that just like the flowers blooming outside my door, I have a new chance to blossom as well . . . every day brings new opportunities for growth and change. I am blessed to have a Father in heaven who is filled with grace and love for me. And I believe He is there waiting for me to call out to him for help in all areas of my life in need of rebirth.
And so, tonight, as I sit here sharing with you, I am overwhelmed with emotion. I’m just a momma, like many of you, longing for all things pure and noble and right for myself and my family. But, I fail. Often. Probably just like you. It’s been a tough week. I know I need to rest in His love and mercy and stop speaking words to myself that are not based in truth. It’s the devil who speaks lies to us. It’s time to call him out on it and refuse to allow him control over our thoughts and words.
Will you join me in claiming rebirth in Christ?
One of our most favorite things to do this time of year is take a nature walk. There is something so incredibly special about walking among trees with fresh green leaves, blooming flowers, listening to birds sing and frogs croak. Butterflies fly by and the gentle breeze caresses my face.
There’s just nothing like it.
So, I want to encourage you to get outdoors with your kids. Take a walk, explore, find those wonderful treasures you’ll only see this time of year. Soon is will be hot and the only treasure you’ll want to seek is a cool swimming pool. Be reminded of God’s love for you. His amazing creation is there for your enjoyment and mine.
