When I purchased my iPad 3 last year, I immediately went on the hunt for a case to protect it. I struggled to find the perfect one and ended up without one for a long time. I discovered recently how important it is to protect this valuable purchase when I dropped mine while on vacation and cracked the corner of the screen. When I was contacted by The Snugg to do a review of their Case Cover and Flip Stand, I was excited and happily agreed to review it.
I love this case! First of all, it is positioned perfectly to cover that crack in the corner, hiding that flaw and increasing its protection from further damage. Next, I was happy to see that it comes in a total of ten stylish colors (I chose orange) and is made from premium PU leather. The inside cover feels like soft suede to protect the screen. It’s really a lovely case and I receive compliments on it frequently.
Unlike some iPad cases I’ve seen, the Snugg has well-postioned front and back camera cut-outs, making it super easy to take photos without removing the iPad from the case. A velcro strap holds the iPad securely in place, and while I don’t use a stylus with my iPad, there’s an easily accessible loop to hold one.
The Snugg also boasts several different positions for use with Facetime, Skype, typing or watching movies, and all positions are quick and easy to set up. This is not a flimsy case at all though, and is very stable in all positions. There is a nice elasticized handle to make holding the iPad more secure. I love this feature when I’m using my iPad for reading.
I’m pretty sure this case has sold itself over and over again, just with friends seeing mine. It is sturdy and after a couple of months of daily use (sometimes overuse!), including with my son (who is not always gentle), it still looks brand new. While it adds slight bulk and weight to the iPad, it’s not overly bulky at all and still fits easily inside my purse.
While I would not have purposefully tested it’s ability to keep my iPad safe when dropped, I did accidentally do so. I dropped it from about 3 feet up onto a ceramic tile floor. The case wasn’t even closed, and it landed screen down. I held my breath as I picked it up, expecting either a new crack or worsened one from my mishap from a couple of months before. I’m thrilled to report that nothing had changed — no new cracks and the old crack was unchanged!
